Log-books, 1727-1730.

Three logs of the ship Sarah kept by her commander, John Erving, on voyages from Boston to Amsterdam (8 May-20 Oct. 1727) and London (13 Dec. 1729-12 May 1730 and 8 July-18 Nov. 1730), all three including the return voyages to Boston. The logs contain records of winds, courses, navigation, and the like, with very little narrative description. The ship was apparently a merchant vessel which carried some passengers as well.
